Not sure why people would bully over someone buying adopts??? What you said is true, and if the artist does have a problem with someone continuously bidding and winning all the adopts then they can put a limit or some-sort of explanation.
In my opinion it's a bit petty that people would talk bad about someone just because of some adopts. And not to sound rude to others, but if you can afford to bid and want the adopt you shouldn't refrain just because some people don't have the currency to do the same and want the adopt. If you bid and win, you won it fair and square, you paid for it with the currency you obtained. There shouldn't be anything wrong with that. Again if the artist has a problem with that they can put specified rules, or if they are concerned about others being able to afford their adopts then they can put a low ab rather than an open auction with no limit. If it is highest bidder wins or fcfs (ab, free, whatever) it's fair. I think people shouldn't be salty about it.
It is your choice whether you want to offer on an adopt or not. If you want to limit on bidding, or let others have a chance, it's really up to you, but you shouldn't get hate on it just because you can / can't do those things.
