Misunderstood

Postby *Nyxie* » Thu Jan 05, 2012 2:07 pm

Such a beautiful spider she was. They all were. One lived in a garage. Another, in a mailbox we would pass on our way to the Blockbuster we walk to. And She was kept in a jar. I'm sorry we had to kill her...

Feeling dark today. Felt like doing a tribute to spiders. So here it is. I'm the only girl l know who'll pick up a spider from the floor of the classroom and ever so calmly and gently place it outside in the bushes. Spiders are misunderstood, just like me. And that's why I like them.

I'd be glad anyday to meet you in person-you're a respectful person, and that's hard to have these days.

That sounds a little like me. I have always been fascinated and maybe a little obsessed with spiders. They are my favorite animals. I always try to release them into the wild if I find one in my house, but one time when I was little I decided to keep a female funnel weaver spider that I had found living in a house plant. I loved that little spider and named her Lupin (Because she reminded me of a wolf). Unfortunately my mom noticed her and told me to put her outside or she would vacume her up. I cried when I let her go.
Now I just feed the ones outside xD

I couldn’t count on anyone to stand there behind me
And keep the dogs from dragging me off with them
While I slept you crept in and pulled the rug right out from under me
Then the rain stole away and took the parts that kept me functioning

My heart will be blacker than your eyes when I’m through with you

I understand, I hate it when people kill bugs and in school I always save them, [stupid story] once the teacher saw a centipede and she flipped out I told her I would catch it but I guess she thought I meant I would kill it and she was all like "EEEEEKKKK KILL IT!!!!!!" but some dude killed it instead (He was also trying to kinda save it because he was like "Can I just pickup and throw it in the trash?") because I didn't want to squash the poor thing.[/stupid story]

I love spiders. I might sound like an idiot, but Spider-man got me interested in them. Arachnids are cool...I can't say the same for bees....and wasps....yellowjackets....I've had a few incidents with them...nests of them....T^T
I so envy your hands. I couldn't draw like that to save my life.

That's the first time anyone has ever said that to me! I guess those 2 months of drawing nothing but hands has paid off!

Beautiful. Simply beautiful. I would have to agree with you on the spider topic. I have handled all sorts of spiders, from tiny crab spiders to my gorgeous tarantula and I have never once, at all, been harmed, nor has a spider threatened to harm me. They are not monsters, they are not even a fraction of our size, yet some many people refer to them as 'gross' and 'scary'. How, I wonder, can one call a spider gross? Are they slimy? Of course not. My tarantula is softer than the silkiest of kittens, and I am much more fearful of a hyper puppy than of her. They must be respected, not feared, and we must learn to learn.
Reality is subjective.
