I get ready to ride,
Then i swing up onto my big brave boy.
I urge him on, we head into a walk,
My mind races, and to my horse i talk.
"We will canter today, we will, we must.
We will canter today, your a horse i trust.
You start to trot, rise and fall.
Up on your back, i feel so tall.
Faster and faster around the arena we race,
Now we're really picking up the pace.
The beat of you trot is faster and faster.
My instructor is yelling, we go faster right past her.
"Your cantering, i had a feeling you might."
"I know!" I say with a smile so bright.
We slow to a walk and i sigh.
Thank you dear friend, for helping me fly.

Omg! You are so talented at both poetry and art. I had a look at ur gallery and your really good way better than me.
In memory of my cat Weasel

They will not go quietly,
the cats who've shared our lives.
In subtle ways they let us know
their spirit still survive.
Old habits still make us think
we hear a meow at the door.
Or step back when we drop
a tasty morsel on the floor.
Our feet still go around the place
the food dish used to be,
And, sometimes, coming home at night,
we miss them terribly.
And although time may bring new friends
and a new food dish to fill,
That one place in our hearts
belongs to them....
and always will.
