it's about showing appreciation to your beloved artists with what narrow vocabulary you have <3

Man, this describes how I feel a lot. I can write a short story about a character, come up with an entire backstory on the spot, write a personality by just looking at a character for a few minutes, but if anyone compliments/comments on my work, the most I can come up with is 'thank you' or 'you're welcome, I'm glad you like it' *facepalms*

And then, when I see an artist I really like post something that I like (like you always manage to do), I either don't have the motivation to write anything or, if I do write something, it feels like it reads like a small compliment that everyone else has already said rather than how I actually feel because I don't know what to say asdfghjkl

asjsdfsjfnsjdfj RIGHT?? it's funny because whenever i get comments or responses, i feel perfectly happy and acknowledged, but when i'm the one writing out those compliments or responses i end up second guessing myself a lot :v i've learned to just lean into it and let myself say whatever i'm thinking, but it's still funny to me that my vocab ends up dry as the sahara despite being able to wax poetic about literally anything else haha
