Born and raised here in a middle of no where VERY rural area (30-45 mins to the nearest town , 4+ hours to nearest city)- those little monsters explode in population during the summer time.
NC ain't that bad though. Or at least where I'm at. Summer will make you melt but Fall turns out so nice. I love cold weather so winter doesn't bother me much. You said you're not going to a rural area so already you won't have issues with internet just to name things off the top of my head.
I hope things go has smoothly as they can for you. I'm so sorry to hear about your kitties. *hugs*

I moved from america to JAPAN. that's about 6,321 miles away, and it was really hard. the one good thing though is I will move back to america soon (the reason we moved was because of a business trip) and I'll be back with my old friends (even though my best friend moved away and I won't see them ever at school again.) if you need to talk or vent about the stress, pm me c: I'd be happy to talk to you and give you some advice.

I can understand the friend issue, but there's always things like texting I guess.
If I was a parent in Cali I would definitely move somewhere in the south. Especially SC???
Taxes are lower, so are general prices.
In NC right now we're having issues with businesses not having enough workers, so there are TONS of jobs.
Am I the only child who thinks like this?

In California a lot of bonds are created among people where I live, the majority of the time the teachers at my school recognize parents as "high school friends" or they would recognize their children. Also, a lot of people have families who live nearby or across the border so what I can tell the people who stay in California are the people who were born their like my mother, father, sister, grandpa, grandma, and such. The family is also a big part of Mexican traditions so people try to avoid moving as much as possible or they just can't afford to move out of California since a lot of people here have a very low income. I personally love it here because of how close people are and the fact that I live so close to Mexico where I can witness these beautiful traditions with my friends with Mexican ancestors, personally, in my opinion, the experience, weather, all the theme parks, water parks, and people are all worth the money you pay to live there but that's just my opinion~
