i mean, if you're wary of cutting it maybe try out a different hair care routine? or maybe try styling your hair in new ways?
i used to have really long hair as well, like down to my butt, and it was always a struggle to wash it because i always used waaaaaay too much conditioner and not enough shampoo and my hair was always just ew lol. a little tip is to try a reverse method of washing your hair. i.e condition your ends/mid-way first and then shampoo your hair because you only really need to condition the lower parts of your hair. (putting too much conditioner on your roots can make it real oily/greasy and hard to manage).
but if that's not really your style, get the cut! i was super scared of getting my hair cut as well but i just said screw it and made the lady cut it to like, shoulder length. ofc, i hated it at first and thought i looked like crap but eventually i grew into it. it was the same when i got the side of my head shaved lol.
really, moral of this post is pretty much you do you, cause in the end you're the one that has to live with your decisions lmao ₍՞◌′ᵕ‵ू◌₎♡
