This is Mayve (may-vee), a princess from the planet of Astara, pictured in the background. She's very calm and elegant, and has sage advice for the Asterian people. She sure does like food, however, and eats quite a lot when people aren't looking.

Asterians start life off much more human-looking, with tannish skin and small, stubby fingers. Generally they're not very dexterous with these or their later forms' "hands", but they can move and manipulate objects via telekinesis.

They do not stay in these forms long, as after an Asterian stores enough energy (from food), they transform into a state quite like Mayve here. This transformation is taxing on the body and mind and is often seen as a "coming of age". It also should be noted that common Asterians do not need as much energy to transform as a royal would.

Common Asterians have less wing-like appendages on their head, only one star on their foreheads, and no neck jewels. They also have simpler clothing. Male common Asterians look very similar to females, except they are a bit bulkier, a bit taller and have no eyelashes. Royal Asterians (like Mayve) have many facial wing-like appendages, two star marks on their cheeks along with the forehead-star, and red or blue jewels on their neck. (Red = Female, Blue = Male). The male royals often have what looks like a fur collar growing down from where the wing-like appendages are, where the females have what looks like a tiara sprouting from the top of their appendages.

Overall, they're a dignified race whether royal or common and seem to have more advanced society and ways of thinking than humans, but not much else is known about their society and way of life.
