I wondered it this is what Cass's life was like with Adam in New York. I hoped so. Even if she was struggling and living off Ramen-noodle soup, it seemed perfect to be in this kind of love.
Corinna was still crying, even as Dave kissed her forehead and smiled, taking one of her hands and twirling her around the small, paint-peeling kitchen. "Stop," she said, half laughing as he dipped her over the garbage can. "David, honestly."
He was humming something, a song I didn't know, as he twirled her out, then pulled her back, scooping an arm around her waist, and led her into an exaggerated tango, both of them stepping expertly over the dog bowl.
"You're crazy," she said, but now she was smiling.
Outside the window over my shoulder it was winter, flat and grey. But in the kitchen, under the warm bulb light, they were still dancing, laughing, twirling across the tiny floor while those silver bracelets jingled, making music all on their own.
This is an excerpt from the book I am currently reading; Dreamland, by Sarah Dessen -- it is not my work.
Nehh, can I just sit down and cry please q///q this part of the book I'm currently reading felt like a kick in the gut, not to mention all the other little things that I'm practically crying over. Not sad crying or happy crying, just.. crying. I dunno, I guess I'm pretty emotional, but I don't mind all the much anymore..
Anyway, I love this author and all her books that I've read so far -- I suppose she's sort of an idol to me C: She is one of the few authors whose books I hunt for, as opposed to my other 'scavenging techniques', haha~
Aside from that, I am shocked how similar I am to a character in this story -- not the main, but a sibling to the main character; who ran away and, well, just the way the main character reflect and describes her, I think I was literally gaping as I read it, haha~
But yeah, I just wanted to doodle, mainly, and I thought this would be a good post to mention all this in. I was messing around with the tools and re-created the pen tool with the watercolor tool properties; I really enjoyed the effect it had!
