So these are a species I have in mind, and they are known as akaldema by the people, or akals for short. They are always found wearing masks, and rumour is that they don't even have faces. The mask was originally made up of the skull of a wolf before the akaldemas evolved and made better, still canine ones. The name Akaldema means 'field of blood' and is said to have come about because of the creatures' horrific way of killing. They hunt humans and bring them back to the tribe before murdering them, they are said to seduce the inuit people using black magic, and only target people on their own. They only take off the mask when they eat. Akaldema generally wear nothing but a bikini woven out of fur and moss. the masks they wear are always different, with differing eye shapes and markings, but always with a white base, black eye holes and a coloured marking. The akals are always female, and therefore reproduce by taking the soul of the human they kill and giving it to the pack leader. The leader is a wizard, and she can make children (shhh i'll work on that bit O u <) Ranking is based on level of magic, and shown by bigness - of - hair. There are two species of Akaldema: Soul Tail and Face tail.
Soultails have their soul on the end of their tail, represented by smoke (this depends on the akal's personality)
Facetails have a mouth on the end of their tails which has a mind of its own. It can be nice to the host, and help them, but it could also drive the host to insanity. Facetails generally go through a very painful process of having their tails cut off to sdtop the 'face' from torturing them.
