A much loved character <3 This is Dís, sister to Thorin II Oakenshield and Frerin, daughter to Thráin and her fanmade mother Uta. Most importantly, or at least where you would have heard of her, she is mother to Fíli and Kíli.
For some reason I've always had a fascination with her, because of the level of grief she's lived through. Her home is taken from her, most likely killing her non-mentioned mother, her father is driven made and then killed, her grandfather beheaded at Moria, her brother Frerin killed at the battle of Anzanulbizar, her husband as well and then *SPOILER SPOILER BLAH BLAH* she loses her last brother and two sons. She's so interesting yet we know little to nothing about her!
Anyway, the mark on her arm and part of her shoulder is from Smaug, as she was burned when he broke into Erebor.
