Growing Old

Postby WazzinGator » Mon Apr 15, 2013 6:00 pm

Haven't finished an Oekaki in sooo long. .n.
I think sketchy drawings are underrated, especially with digital art. I often prefer sketches (of other people and my own art) over inked and reworked lines.

So here's an insanely sketchy piece.. hopefully you can actually tell what it is. ._.

This looks great and I agree. I find myself liking sketchy art over neater and cleaner looking art pieces. I like the unique feel sketchiness can give to an art work.

I'm the same way! I think, in sketches, you can often capture more emotion than in smooth art... :3 Great job. I really enjoyed this piece.
I'm leaving for a while. Not sure when i'll be back. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I always love my artwork when it is in sketch form, but then get frustrated at the amount of things I have to change/make so they look better once I've inked over it. I like my artwork when it is sketchy, but I also like it when I have clean lineart :x Dilemma dilemma.

I agree with you completely. I feel people kind of abuse the perks in digital art that is very unrealistic in traditional artwork. For example the ability to color so well in the lines, to have crisp outlines, nearly unlimited re-dos, among other things.I just feel the thing that is so wonderful about traditionally art work is the messy sketchy feel it usually gives off.

Oh god, that comment was way too long, I’m sorry; A; your description just really resonated with me.Anyways, this drawing is wonderful and your description is so true. Your art is so very inspiring to me <3

I totally agree with Pogo and everyone else. I often prefer how my sketches turn out, but think they look too messy to post. Then again, I'm really picky about things... Often times making "clearer" lines ruins it. Anyways, wonderful job as always, Wazzin! And of course we can tell what it is!! Don't be ridiculous!

Thanks everyone<3 ;c; I didn't know there were so many sketchy fans! Awesome. Pogo that's not way too long at all! Your work is really inspiring to me also, you bring that traditional vibe to digital art, it's astounding. The best thing about traditional work is definitely the sketchiness. I wish sketching wasn't so hard with a tablet. :P
And I feel the same way, Croci and Darquesse. I suppose there's a balance between sketching and refining.
