Eh....erm....um...
well there ya have it. my first attempt at hair like- well that. its nothing amazing. but i would love someone who is good at it to critique it. i hope to improve with more practice. i like this though...
PS: i DONT line the really light blue in the hair. note to self: make each color in hair a different layer...

I'm not the best either, but I know something. :P

Pick a base color, draw... pick a few, slightly different shades of the same color, add them in. Blend it with the hair flow. Take the darken thing, set it to where it makes noticeable but not too noticeable streaks, kill your fingers making dark lines. Same with the lighten tool thing, then kinda blend it. Not much, but like a click, move a pixel, click, move a pixel if you get what I mean. I'm terrible at explaining, I can't find the awesome hair tutorial I used once... sorry.
