Well, I wanted to practice character designing and using my tablet on Oekaki since I'm terrible at both, and this was the result. I gave up on using the tablet after the first hour or so and drew the rest with a laptop touchpad. The reason some of the lines look sketchy is that those were drawn with my tablet. As you can tell, this is a work in progress. I'm still planning on neatening up the coloring, adding shading and probably changing the design a bit. Not sure if I really want to keep the character or not, but I still need a name for him so suggestions are appreciated. The timer is correct. I'll probably finish this tomorrow or the next day depending on how much free time I'll have. I know the proportions are off as well, it's quite difficult to get the correct proportions when I have to squeeze a fullbody drawing into this little canvas and always zoom in enough that I can't see how each section looks in comparison to the rest.

Well, I think I'm done now. I might still add to the design later though. I don't really like how this came out very much since I couldn't change most of the issues with proportion and I don't really like the shading style that I used either, but at least I have a reference for this character now.

it looks pretty good so far, i hope you find that it might turn out better if you are working on it still like your post says. i myself have a hard time to draw characters but i have a hard time using a computer instead of by hand, maybe i should have that tablet instead (JK JK) . But maybe you could help me with a few characters, i have some already done but if you wish to see them then i could take a picture and plug them into the computer and post them to you if that is alright.

Yep, there's still quite a lot of work to do on this drawing, mostly shading though but that will probably improve it quite a bit since this is just a flat color right now. I'll also make any design changes that I see fit. The messed up proportions are still bothering me but by the time I'd noticed the problem, I'd already drawn enough that I'd have to redo large sections if I wanted to fix it.
Yeah, I'm one of those few people who is actually worse at drawing with a tablet, hopefully I'll improve though. I'm not sure whether you're asking for art or advice on your designs. If art, I'm currently not accepting orders, sorry. If simply advice, I'm not very good with character designing but feel free to PM me if you really want to.

OK, i might pm you if i need to, there are certain parts in drawing on a computer make me a bit confused but i've already drawn weapons for a character so that way every RP he is in i present them to the owner too so that way they know

I'd certainly be happy to give you some tips on drawing on Oekaki at some point when I have the time.

I think I'll try to fix up some of those proportion issues next time I edit this, they're just bothering me too much.

IKR Aibo? This is another reason why I never do full body poses(also not confident orz). I sort of like to draw big....and was kinda taught to draw that way(full up the whole page). If I draw a full body, then I'd have to make everything smaller, and I'm horrible at scaling(I still sucked at it in Storyboad ;A;). Good luck, I may try to start my own characters. For name, well, do you have anything in mind for this character? Type of story, personality etc? If you ca answer that, you'll be able to more easily give it a name.

I rarely draw full body but with a character design I feel that it's important to show the full design as a reference for others who I'll order art from. I have to say, it's really difficult to make a full body drawing on this tiny canvas. I'm going to try to fix up some of the proportion issues but I'm just hoping that I won't ruin the whole thing.

Yes, I've started working on a personality and story for him but they're not detailed yet. For now I'm just calling him Akioma since I often name my characters after my Aibos and that's Aki's full name. I may find a better name for him later though.
