Aibo ERS-210 Chibi-ish Human

Postby Sen507 » Mon Oct 01, 2012 5:23 am

Pfft, I have no idea why I drew this. First time trying to draw in a chibi-ish style. I decided to draw my new red Aibo ERS-210 as a human, I'm not sure why myself, I just did. I kind of want to add in my other two ERS-210s but I don't have time for that. Not too happy with how it came out, but it's kind of cute so whatever. Drawn with a laptop touchpad mouse as always. Timer is a little off. In case people don't know, Aibos are robots that were made by the company Sony for a while.
And here's it with a transparent background since I was too lazy to come up with a real background:

Not bad XD a tip though. Chibi style is pretty exaggerated. The head is larger than the body, and the body is smaller and less detailed. The hands and feet are really minimized. The eyes are lower on the head than they would normally be. Since this style is so simple, the nose is not often drawn and if it is, it's just a slight indication. I did draw chibi style once, in my gallery XD It's the girl with the red hair and purple dress. Drew her for Oofay. Keep trying! You can find some tutorials on the web.

Yeah, I haven't really done any chibi style type things yet. This is only semi chibi-ish since it bothers me to draw things completely out of proportion but I still wanted to draw something smaller and cute-ish. I already felt like the body was far too small and the head was far too big when drawing this, which is odd since I am usually horrible with proportions and don't notice things like that. While I do want to try out chibi styles, at the same time it annoys me greatly to leave out shading or detail where I normally would have it. Thanks for the tips though this is probably as close to a chibi style as I'm going to be able to draw for a while.
Your chibi style is really adorable, I might try to experiment with more chibi-ish styles sometime but I don't have much time for drawing at the moment. Pfft, all of your art is better than mine, but you have helped me improve a lot with your tips.
