Lately a series of events have changed my life. First off I was at a nursing home volunteering to spend time with the elderly. I was sitting in a room with a small old lady. She told me how she lost her two sons to drugs and alcohol. One was drunk driving and crashed into a tree. He was killed on impact. Her other younger son was out with friends and he overdosed on Weed. She looked me right in the eye and told me. “There are many choices in life. Please make the right ones.”
Then later that day, I got home. I forgot my key to my house so I walked to my neighbor Vici’s house. She has four dogs and is the nicest person. Supposedly she stopped smoking after smoking for 30 years of her life. When she invited me in I smelled cigarette smoke. She gave me my key and a piece of candy and I left for my house. I noticed several burnt cigarettes on her front porch. I knew she had lied. I could not help but think about what the old lady told me today. So I feel like my eyes have been opened to the truth. Make the right choices, and live. If you make a mistake it might as well be your last.
Thank you, Snowcone
