I'm sorry you lost your dear friend. I have a dog, she is ten right now and has been around since I was very young. Her sister died a few years ago from a disease, and I know I will be heartbroken when my bestest pal leaves us. She sleeps in my bed every night, and I love her dearly. I know you loved your friend the same way. Even if you are not religious(I am not) I believe you will enjoy this poem:

Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge...
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food and water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they miss someone very special to them; who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. The bright eyes are intent; the eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to break away from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. YOU have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

THEN YOU CROSS RAINBOW BRIDGE TOGETHER...

R.I.P. Rubus-caesius. We hope you are happy, wherever you are.

I'm so sorry. My neighbors cat passed away not too long ago, and I was there right before it happened. I really wish you and your family well. <3 R.I.P. By the way, the drawing is outstanding.

but about a week ago, he lost his appetite, wouldn't urinate/poo, and wouldn't move for hours on end.
we took him to the vets and had a blood test done, the results due to come back today.
unfortunately, he collasped three times and had a fit, before dying at 1am, wednesday 16th november, 2011, gmt.

he was the family dog and was the star pet, and we are all devastated over his death.
    we buried him earlier today.

    cause of death: cancer
time period: years, but didn't start showing until a week ago.

god bless you, rubus. you'll be forever in our hearts <3.

My dog Jake died just 3 months ago he was 16 years old and was an ORIGNIAL German Shepard witch means he had a bump on his back. We have had him for 14 years and he was also the star of the home. I very much miss him! And our family and friends cried for a week. R.I.P. Jake.

I'm so sorry. I had a pet with cancer too.
I had a kitten called Shadow. He was merely 1 year old when he caught cat flu. I feel so bad for him, as he has many bad experiences in the past (like getting a chicken bone in his throat, falling off a roof, etc.). At the time, we didn't know. So as he got worse and worse, he eventually got cancer. He stopped eating and going to the toilet. He started hacking loudly but wouldn't spit anything up. He would shiver and wail out loudly, aswell as crawl about and bang into things with eyes glazed. We knew something was wrong then. We planned to take him to the vets immediately. We heard a smash from the dining room and looked to find the shelf of glass bottles he had been laying on was empty, and Shadow lay on the floor covered in shards of glass. It was midnight and my parents took me to bed, taking Shadow to the vets themselves. They arrived at 2am. I was still asleep. It was a school day. I woke up at 5am and my parents told me he died on the operating table. I asked what they did with his body, and they said the vets wanted to use the bones to show changes when a cat caught cancer. This broke my heart and I yelled at them. I couldn't believe they would let the vets keep the body for experimenting on! I wanted to make him a grave or atleast send him to heaven peacefully, not by being shedded from his bones! I still miss him now, but have 9 new cats that are special, but will never take his place.<3
Oh darn, I've started crying again. >.<
    Anyway, lovely art.~
