Hey guys!
I decided to draw a polar bear in honor of this year's Polar Bear Migration. I've been watching the wild polars via online webcams. They are such amazing creatures. I was going to spend more time on this, but decided to post what I have so far.
I saw this bear hanging out on the webcam and took a sceenshot. I was so inspired watching the bear, I decided to paint it. Adorable no?
I know, horrible quality. I used the screenshot for reference in position, and some anatomy, but brought out the color more, and added in the paws. Those paws were a pain to draw. The background was inspired by the same picture. The live webcam streaming the migration can be found here: http://www.explore.org (P.S. the cams are down during the night)
This... came out horrible. I don't normally do digital drawings without lines, and for some reason, the Oekaki doesn't like me (I swear it doesn't! I guess I'm still not used to it yet.) I tried to go for an oil paint style, since it's a medium I'm somewhat familiar with. I like the colors, and the anatomy tuned out fairly well, but it still needs some work. It looks and feels unfinished. So please, some advice! Mainly on blurring and blending of colors; if the paws are alright, and if not how to fix them; doing the grass, which left me rather baffled; and if the background needs some fixing; and also how to do fur. And anything else you think is worth mentioning. Yeah, a lot, but I'd really like to improve it if I can.
Thanks in advance everyone
