Most of the details get lost because they all blend together, which tends to be a problem with that soft style of drawing/colouring. The eye stands out because it's got that dark outline in front of it that makes it really pop and look more 3D - adding some darker shading to give depth would probably help a lot, like inside/under the ears and along the jawline. :3
You could also try running very slight bits of shading along the underside of some of the fur tufts on the ruff and behind the cheek to give the fur a little more lift. Sharpening the edge of the ears would help, too, though I know that can be tricky with that colouring style where the body parts overlap. I do like how you've got shading implied by varying the opacity of the brushes so the darker background colour shows through, especially around the ear where it joins the head. ^^ The shape of the ear and the muscle attachments is very nicely done; it just doesn't show up very well because of the remaining blurriness, which makes it hard to visually separate from the other ear, the head and the background. As it stands right now, this piece isn't quite intermediate yet, but it isn't far off, either. ;3 Keep working with it and it could very well end up moving back to Intermediate. ^^
