The lineart for the dragon looks really nice but the coloring of the picture and the shading takes away from it. The color of the dragon is really similar to the color of the mountains and the rock it's sitting on, so it makes it sort of difficult to tell where the dragon ends and where it begins. The markings themselves look nice, but they're so bright that the contrast distracts from the actual drawing.
Also, for a first attempt at a background this is definitely good (better than my first attempt) .__. But you want to make sure you're not making it so that the background is the main focus of the picture. The way you used the lineart to create the details in the background (in the mountains, (smaller) rocks, & trees especially) distracts from the dragon because the dragon is made from the same lines and even less of them. Rely on shading to create the ridges in the mountain, not the lineart. C: Also, you want to avoid awkward placement of objects, when I was looking at the stream for a second I thought it was coming from the dragon's nose because of where it began.
This picture is really nice but there's stuff that takes away from how nice it can be. I don't want to write an essay, so if you're looking for more critique on anything just PM me. C:
