I failed again at shading... and I need help/tips.

This is what I did.
I had 3 layers total-1 for lines (layer 3), 1 for shading (layer 2) and 1 for coloring (layer 1).
For the sading layer (2) I used a darkish gray for the shade color with pencil with the opacity of 90. I used the smudge tool to get that fur-like look.
Then when I colored I put the opacity back up to the top on the pencil and colored it (with pencil).

What did I do wrong and how do I fix it??
Anyone?? You can have some pets if you help (you can choose some from unlocked groups).

To make your shading look good, use black on the airbrush tool. ;3

You probably colored on the wrong layer X3 I've done that, it's not fun to deal with. I don't know how to fix it, because I don't know exactly what you did wrong, so it's on you, I guess. XD

O.K. Ill try the airbrush thing.

And I used the bottom layer to color and the one above it to shade.
