the pickle... also ft. arthur who im not entirely set on the design of just yet. idk i struggle to capture his vibes

UHH ive talked about dewey a bunch but how about her parents!! we got . pickles. and arthur! pickles is my player character from the first game and a bit of a self-insert, and theyre just knda. vibing. blah blah canon cattails intro backstory, then they met coco and joined the mountain colony. they were a bit apprehensive, having been a pet cat prior to this (they used to be named something else, also!) they didnt really know how to hunt or survive in the wild. luckily, they had a good mentor- jag, the guard! they sort of. started hovering around him awkwardly after joining, not really sure how to go about introducing themself to the others. jag, being jag, was similarlly apprehensive towards the newcomer, but after a while they started opening up to eachother and becoming friends! they sparred together and dewey learned to fight, slowly becoming a force to be reckoned with in territory disputes. pickles eventually made more friends within the colony, notably luna, the medic, leo, the leader, and arthur, another well respected warrior! arthur and pickles often met together with leo to discuss battle plans, and through this they started talking and becoming close. after a while, they started developing feelings for eachother, and started dating, then becoming married! shortly after their first litter, pickles decided to rename themself to pickles, as well as dye their coat permanently, as a way to reclaim their identity from their old life. no longer a housecat, they were now their own person.

for many seasons, pickles and arthur were powerful mountain domain warriors- but this would not last forever. slowly, in the background of all of this, pickles was helping restore the balance of the colonies. together with the aid of coco, they were ordered by the forest guardian to found a forth colony. this distressed pickles greatly, not wanting to leave their new family behind. arthur encouraged his mate, promising to stand by their side in the new colony. leo was displeased to lose his two most valuable soliders in one go, but understood the importance of such. pickles promised to vist often, and followed through whenever possible. for the most part, they were able to maintain their closeness to their friends in the mountain domain. and yet... jag felt betrayed by the changing loyalties of his closest friend, and out of stubborness and his devout loyalty to the domain, he completely cut pickles off from his friendship. any interactions between the two of them were only met with bare minimum civility that you would give to a stranger on your lands. pickles tried very hard to stay his friend, yet at some point, they just decided to give up.

the events of wildwood story happen many seasons after all this- pickles colony (which. i ahve been avoiding mentioning the name of cause idr XD) was well established when the disaster struck, dewey one of the children from a later litter. pickles and arthur were sad to see their family seperate, but they knew it was nessecary. a colony of their size would not be able to travel safely as one unit. pickles sees themself in dewey- the determination to be more then her starting point, the drive to protect and defend, the way she was ready to say goodbye to everything she held dear just to devote herself to the greater good. though it is highly unlikely that they will ever meet again, pickles has faith in their daughter to form a strong, healthy colony.
