Just in time for International Dog Day, a portrait of my pooch .

Her name is Hazel and she is my terrier free free terrier .
We embarked her and she was mostly am.bulldog but also had shih tzu, dachshund, and pekignese in her breed make up .
She is an absolute star and is has so much potential that I'm always excited to uncover more and more of every day . She is funny, goofy, and annoying . I am so happy to have her in my life .

I remember you sharing Hazel on the dog ownership thread and I've been in love with her since.
She's such a funky lookin' lil dog. If you lived close I'd groom her for you for free, she's just too dang cute !!

She is funky looking LMAO . Grooming her is actually quite the hassle haha, we've been working with lots of training on it ( not as much as I should've in the beginning, admittedly ) . Her previous owners said they shaved her every summer and that they would have to hold her down to groom her .. yikes . So her nails are a consistent ugly length and her legs are fuzzy bc she doesn't tolerate the clippers too long . Slow and steady wins the race though, eventually she will have pretty feet ( minus them being flat, but gotta blame byb genetics on that one ) .
Eventually I would love to get her fit enough to do something like FastCat ! Gotta lose some weight first haha

Awe she looks adorable!! I always love to see your drawings and when they pop up in my Oekaki I can't wait to see them. I also love your new signature!(I have an off topic question? How did you make it transparent where it only shows the image and not the background? Same with your PFP? I can't figure it out and I just colored mines background to the color of the page.

We have a lot of dogs that come in like her, random terrier mixes that you'd never believe the breed composition of. I love how if you just throw a bunch of terriers in a dog, it always ends up some squat thing with either wiry or rough hair. She's simply Perfect.
YEAH.. I see it a lot where owners don't train their dogs/get them used to the grooming process. I have a few bath dogs who think the water is acid the minute it touches them. You're right that slow n steady wins the race. I try to make sure every dog I work on has a positive experience and we can build on that. It's a sucky journey though, yeah. Despite raising my dachshund boy from a wee little bean he STILL hates his feet messed with. Some of it's a breed thing and I just (soft scream)
At least neither of our dogs are poodles and need clean feet, LOL.

FastCAT always looks SO FUN, yess. I wish the both of you a really fun time with it. Maybe when the world isn't so on fire I'd love to get my dachshund into barnhunt. Some dayy

Sorry for not replying yesterday 🥲🥲 didn't have the brain power lol !
To make an image transparent it has to be a PNG file . To make an oekaki art piece transparent you need to get rid of the background ( in the program when the background has the grey checkerboard pattern it has the ability to be transparent ! ) . But for it to actually be transparent in the forums you have to edit the code a bit ! ( I will edit this post in a moment with how better- on my phone and cannot grab the image url with it ) .
But for other images you have to save them as a png/obtain them as such . If you grab an image from google the way to know if it has a transparent background is similar- it will have the checkerboard pattern background ! Those are just copy and pasting the url into [img]the%20lovely%20image%20code%20thing[/img] . I find tacking "transparent" on the end of any google search pretty useful if I'm specifically looking for it .

Barn hunt looks so fun !! I feel hazel would also love that sport 🤣🤣 honestly there is just so much I would love to do with her eventually haha . Eventually my goal is to get a sport prospect puppy in 5-10 years and get into lure coursing and dock diving
And agility

And too many things to count LOL

I feel you on the clean feet 🤣 her fuzzy paws kinda hid her horrid nails so it definitely makes me less self conscious while we work on it . Not that she would let me shave her paws in the first place haha
