- Feel free to not read any of this text, It's just me writing what I think about this drawing.
- This is a second redraw of a previous art piece, which includes Jayfeather, Hollyleaf and Lionblaze, with Hollyleaf being sad that her brothers are important prophecy cats and she is not.
When I redraw my old art, it's usually because I think it's awful and I can do a lot better, a good example of this is Time flies fast. I think that the 2014, 2015 and 2016 drawings are pretty bad (mostly because of the awful anatomy). The 2018 version, however, is great and I think it's one of the best things I've drawn, even if I drew it 3 years ago.
I don't feel the same way about Stars in their paws, however. I actually don't have any major issues with any of the versions that I've made. The main reason why I redrew this drawing again is because I recently made designs for Jayfeather, Hollyleaf and Lionblaze and I wanted to use them (I never really had solid designs for them before, I winged it in the 2016 version and copied 2016's designs for the 2017 version).
- Based on the title of this drawing ("A failed attempt at drawing"), I clearly didn't like this after drawing it, but 5 years later (oh my god it's been so long haha) I think it actually looks pretty cute. The designs of the three cats are simple, but recognizable. I can see some anatomical mistakes, but unlike the 2014-2016 drawings of Time flies fast, I really don't think that they're a big deal. I don't think that I knew what I was doing with blue and orange swirls in the background, but they turned out alright. Ultimately, I think it's nothing extraordinary, but I do think that it's very cute and I enjoy the art style of it.
2017

Again I... definitely did not know what I was doing with the blue and orange swirls in the background lol, but I think they turned out fine. Anyways, I went for a more realistic style for 2017 as opposed to 2016. I like the character poses, I think they're definitely more interesting then the 2016 version, even if they're all just sitting. I like the eyes also and I like the coloured smoke coming from beneath Jayfeather and Lionblaze. Some of the anatomy looks kind of wonky and Lionblaze looks smaller then Jayfeather (I've always imagined it to be the other way around, or for them to be the same height). I think the colours could be more vibrant, but maybe they just look dull because the image quality is so bad lol.
- I really like this version! I think that the anatomy looked a little awkward in the previous two versions, but I can't really find anything bad to say about this year's. The art style I have now is a little more stylized then what I was trying to go for 2017, but I think that that adds personality to the characters and makes them more distinct. If you colored in the characters from the previous year one solid color, you couldn't tell them apart, I don't think that that's the case in this version. Anyways, I liked the smoke from 2017, so I reused it for this version, too. I added some paws aswell. A good hour was probably spent trying to figure out what to do about the background lol. While I was messing around with it, I accidentaly made Jayfeather's side of the background look like WindClan and thought that it would be a good idea to have the background look like ThunderClan and WindClan.
