Hey! As I was browsing the forums I came along this piece of fine art. I think it looks really great, as you have been asking I would love to help out with some critiquing!
The muzzle looks splendid, absolutely gorgeous! Given the angle it was on, it ended up turning out really nicely. Okay, starting on the mane. It looks good, but you need to add more highlights and undertones, to give it the real deal look. Using a 1 pix brush, zoom in and go hair by hair with darker and lighter colors were necessary. That should give it a more defined look and if you are aiming for a realistic approach, that should help you greatly. On the horse's cheek it needs to be defined more, instead of just a swash of dark color. Try using a smaller brush and just make a simple ark, and it should look better. Along the jawline you can see that their is a darker area behind it, that needs to be showing as that makes it 3 dimensional and adds more depth to the picture. Try adding some more light and dark areas around the muzzle, where there are many little lines and fold of lip fat, and skin folds. On that note, the ear needs to be an oval sitting atop a very little trapezoid, so you can see the base of the ear better. And the dark part inside the ear needs to be a lot larger almost taking up the entire ear besides a very little part. The eye is absolutely amazing , and that is about it. Also you could try thinning the neck a bit as it's a bit chubby.
Well it looks great! Hope this helped.
