Do you know what kind of coat he has? My guess is black golden classic tabby with medium white, but I've never seen one like that! :o
He's a seal classic lynx point with low white! You can tell he's a point by the fact that his eyes are blue (it's a little difficult to see in these photos, but colorpoint cats have blue eyes because the point gene reduces pigment in the eyes as well as the coat) and, if you look closely, his "points" (legs, tail, muzzle, ears) are darker than the rest of his coat
Walkthrough of the phenotype name:
Seal - fancy term for black colorpoint
classic - his tabby type (swirly, thicker stripes)
lynx - fancy colorpoint term for tabby
point - colorpoint, but shorter
low white - It's only on his paws and chest! The rest of the paler fur is because he's a colorpoint
His coat is more brown towards the center because black in colorpoints is a little funny. If you look up "seal lynx point" you'll find a lot more examples! You can even see it in solid seal points, to an extent
His fur used to be a
lot lighter, but he's gotten a darker as he aged
