So I decided to redo a picture- one that I believe is the only picture I ever made that got featured. I don't really know how as I don't think it's that good. But I also drew it well over seven years ago. And I wanted to show my improvement!
As stated in that previous picture, we have Kirukanjia ('Kanji) and Nyuepe. They're the daughters of King Kovu and Queen Kiara and their story follows that of Taming of the Shrew since The Lion King mirrors that of Hamlet, and TLKII mirrors Romeo and Juliet. Although, to be a little more clear... my version follows a little more closely to the movie Ten Things I Hate About You.. base on The Taming of the Shrew.
Nyuepe has several suitors lined up as she's a rare a beautiful albino lioness, but Kovu won't allow anyone to pursue his youngest daughter until his eldest has found one as he's worried another male lion might try to take her throne from her. 'Kanji is not interested in sharing her future throne, and therefore not interested in finding a suitor. One male pursuing Nyuepe, Bata, with the help of his friend Pili, put up a sweet talking rogue named Tabasamu (Taba) to work his way into 'Kanji's heart. Like the original story, it does end up working, but much to Bata and Pili's disappointment, Nyuepe choses a male named Nfasi, who, unlike the other suitors, has fallen in love with Nyuepe, not her appearance. 'Kanji and Taba go on to have three daughters, Kizushi, Malkia and Pendi (whose story mirrors that of King Lear... except happier, probably. Haven't gotten that far yet.
