1 art piece AND 500 word minimum
Ashari is carving into the sandstone and Anhora is watching from nearby. Anhora is quite new? Ashari asks him over since he seems interested, she shows him how she makes the carvings. She offers to decorate his den entrance for him. However she doesnt know enough about him to make a decent personalised design, so she needs to spend more time with him.
Anhora sat outside his den, watching the pride go about their day. They were still a small family, and so it was not too busy around. His eyes kept gliding upwards, when he wasn't actively controlling what he was daydreaming about, he looked up slowly to watch a certain lioness sit at the entrance of another den, her paws pressed against the sandstone walls of the ravine.
She was a unique character, that was for sure. Her name was Ashari, and he had been told by Lumis that Ashari was the lion who made all of the carvings that decorated different areas of the crevice where they made their home. She was intently dragging her claws across the packed sand, but from where Anhora sat, he couldn't see what she was making.
Well, enough of the creepy watching, Anhora needed to get up properly and actually do something productive. It would be his turn with the wanderers later to hunt for the pride. Shaking his golden mane, as if to shake all previous thought from his head, he rose to his feet and made his way up the steep path out of the lower part of the ravine.
"Anhora?" a voice called softly out to him, "I could feel you watching me just now. Come say hello," Ashari smiled warmly when he looked over. Was it that obvious? He was undeniably intrigued in her abilities. He turned away from the rest of the sloping steps and over to where Ashari sat, left paw still leaning against the sand wall.
"What are you carving?" He enquired, tentatively taking a seat next to the lioness.
"Lumis asked me if I could make her a sun and birds above the entrance to her den, I was just finishing off the birds." She explained. She turned to face her work again and Anhora lingered on her face before also observing her handiwork.
She pointed one claw delicately, scratching slowly away - sand crumbling down to the ground as she dug out a shallow curve of one wing. Anhora gazed around the rest of her art. There was a dense jungle carved at the base of the wall; primates swung in the trees, Elephants peeking through the boughs. Above the canopy of the jungle - the freshly carved sun and a few different sized birds soaring stationary in the sky.
"It's beautiful," Anhora breathed, gently lifting his own paw to brush over the markings.
"I could make you some carvings, if you wish? I'd love to decorate your den if you would allow me." Ashari offered. "But, I do not know very much about you - It would be difficult to personalise the designs..."
The lion nodded, slow and unsure, but in agreement all the same. "I think I would like that a lot," he confirmed, "perhaps you could join my patrol today? I'll be joining the wanderers, we could learn more about one another then."
