"That Sagewhisker has really been a pain in my pelt, lately," growled the black and white deputy.
His grey tabby friend turned her head away from him. Sagewhisker waited, crouched just over the summit of a small rounded hill. The tabby she-cat almost caught her eye but the clever ginger and white cat ducked her head down lower just in time.
"Yes, yes, Swiftfire," the tabby murmured. "We all know about how much you despise Sagewhisker."
Sagewhisker held in a purr of amusement. She knew how many people found her annoying or too aggressive but all that mattered were her friends so she let all of the insults slide off her tail-tip.
"That sarcastic, opinionated-!"
"You called?" Sagewhisker had chosen her moment and bounced over the hill just in time.
The grey tabby she-cat let out a mrrow of laughter and flicked her tail.
