R is a curious, wholesome soul. She's actually quite down to Earth (despite rarely setting foot on her home planet anymore) with just about everything, EXCEPT her botanical endeavors. She's a bit intense when it comes to that. Being so detail oriented, she is often seen as a perfectionist when it comes to her trade. When she's not focusing on studying and cultivating extraterrestrial flora, R enjoys a good romp through fields of asteroids and relaxing in a nice warm spot. She also often attempts various culinary experiments, arts and crafts, and yoga.
extras:
R designs and manages extraterrestrial greenhouses, specializing in alien horticulture and organic produce. Much of her research concerns the various "carrot-like" roots found in distant lands, although she loves all flora equally.

Spiny barbs decorate leafy vegetation for defense. Glowing buds attract pollinators in a highly bioluminescent environment.

R expertly navigated the alien terrain, nimbly bouncing over rocks and shrubby, faintly glowing vegetation. She'd received knowledge that she might be interested in some of the roots growing on this planet, and was determined to locate them.
She had chosen to explore at dusk, when she assumed the leafy vegetation would be glowing brightest to attract its best pollinators. So far, her search had come up empty, but the individual who had given her the tip had mentioned they seemed scarce. She would find them eventually, even if it meant she had to come back a few more times.
Just when she thought it was time for her to return to her camp for the night, a soft light caught the corner of her eye. Her head whipped around; could it be? R bounced enthusiastically to the small bunch of glowing leaves to start her observation. They had the spiny thorns that she had been warned of, and the glowing buds dotted the stems. Ever so carefully, she started to dig around one of the roots to excavate it without damaging any part of the plant.
With the carrot-like plant successfully retrieved from the soil, R settled herself to record this finding in the fading light of dusk. The root's soft light illuminating her sketchbook.
