Fauna

the Faunous beast; also known as one of my story's "scapegoats". the Faunous beast is a counterpart creature I made aside to

him, the Florous beast.

Now, starting with HER side of lore, here's some information on the Faunous beast.

because of the Faunous best being a predator, she's instantly stereotyped as a monster that kills for thrills.
because of the fact that Fanous is a "deity" in a way, (although there isn't really specific "creations," "deities" just represent things; in this universe there are some that I've talked about, but haven't yet drawn on here.) people assume that deities are immortal, and overpowered, when in reality, with the exception of one named Insomnia-- an enchanted anubis-- they function like regular animals, but have longer lifespans.

because of an event on this planet that happened three centuries ago, an event with the other deities came into existence called the "Natura Trial" happened. the Natura Trials is an argument between species of the deities, cherry picking the things that could apply to the deity, and what they will be labeled as for the whole three thousand years of their lives, unless they are stonen deities, which can live for much longer.

because Faunous had lost a trial in a past life, for declaring war, her new life has completely gotten rid of these memories, and she is simply a wolf trying to live. Florous on the other hand is simply a deer trying to live, and fears the idea of death upon himself, and Prey Species, and as the world is supposed to be a story about shades of grey, instead of black and white, there is no right or wrong.

the animals of this broken society are supposed to people, choosing sides, and most animals end up siding with Florous; terrified of death, which is still valid to be scared about, everyone believes murders are done for sick kicks; prey animals only kill for defense, which carnivores think as revenge, and continue to kill prey animals, which prey believe to be an act of murder, not so carnivores can survive.

anyways, here's a song that kind of inspired some of these ideas. It's an older Coldplay song.

Enough dilly-dallying though; If I could please have some critique on honestly ANYTHING, the lore, the art, anything that's off, please tell me if you have anything you'd like to say!

That last critique that I gave took over an hour to write, so I'm just going to speed-round this one with opinions and compliments:
The lighting looks better and the details in the ground are noticeable and gives the drawing more dimension.

The moon could use some work... try sizing up the pen tool to desired size and raise the opacity all the way up, then just click where you want it (may need to click more than once); believe me, it creates a perfect circle without all the effort. Then, from there, just erase what you don't need with a circle that's maybe 2 sizes (maybe 1 size) smaller than the pen size you used. For details, make a new layer and just use the pen tool, still at full opacity, in a smaller size and darker color. Then, use the soft eraser at very low opacity to soften the details on the moon so that they don't look like they're trying to stab your eyes.

Not on expert on leg positioning on an animal, but I do think that their back right leg should be brought forward a bit more and the ankle joint should be positioned more upward, similar to what you did to their back left leg. Also, the spike on the face... is it supposed to be on the face? If so, for balance-sake, you should also have one on the other side of their face, otherwise, they would be rather right-side heavy.

Eyes in the background: Does each creature have a different amount of eyes? If not, there are some creatures apparently sitting on top of each other... trying to meld into one being, it seems.

The mushrooms are adorable and the darker spots on them make them look like they have little ghost-like eyes and they're just lookin' around... bein' cute. If it wasn't your plan before to make those dark spots actually their eyes (just the spots, don't add pupils or anything), I highly suggest adding that into the plan. They can be the cute to distract from the scary <3

I'm in a bit of a hurry to finish up some projects so I only skimmed the lore (and skimming doesn't give you nearly enough information to complete a critique), so, I'm gonna skip that.

Instead I'll say good job and, again, I am not a qualified artist, so you do not have to follow my advice. Again, thank you for reading.

Hey, sure thing! Thank you for your once again helpful critique. . . and you know what? I will give those mushrooms little eyes!
