This was originally a competition entry, but I changed the cat's design so I could re-use the art and writing from the competition for a new character (with the same name, because Bluewhisker is a nice name).
Bluewhisker is a blue point with a white toe on his front right paw.
He was originally a rogue, and lived with his parents and younger siblings. He lost his right eye when he was about eight moons, in a battle to defend his siblings against a horde of rats. He later earned a faint bite scar above his shoulders from a badger, and a pretty bad scar on his right side from a pair of ravens.
Bluewhisker's first battle occurred when he was eight moons old, and still known only as Blue. His younger siblings had decided to go exploring, and of course dragged Blue along with them. They got too close to a rats' nest, and were attacked by a horde of the horrible rodents.
Blue, being the oldest by a few moons (he was from a previous litter), told his younger siblings to run, then stayed behind to delay the rats as long as possible. He held them off at first, but his momentum faltered when he was struck in the eye. He fell to the ground, and the rats piled onto him, scratching and clawing until there was no hope of his eye ever healing. His parents arrived a moment before he went unconscious.
His fight with the rats resulted in his lost eye. This scar reminds him that even small foes can be powerful when working together, which is a lesson he takes to heart, as he's always been a bit smaller than everycat else.
Blue's back scar was earned when he was about twenty-four moons old. He and his siblings had been out hunting together in the middle of winter, when they stumbled upon the scent of a badger. His younger siblings pestered him until they convinced him that they needed to drive the badger out of their hunting area. The badger was weak from hunger, so defeating it should have been easy. During the battle, the badger grabbed Blue in its mouth and tossed him into a tree, knocking him unconscious. His siblings finished the battle without his help, and drove the badger away. Blue woke up a few days later with a terrible bite wound on his back. The wound ended up leaving a faint scar.
Blue's final scar, the one on his side, came from a rather... unexpected attack. Blue had been sitting in a tree to watch the sunset, when he noticed that there was a bird nest a few branches up. He climbed up to the nest, and before he had a chance to pick up an egg and bring it back to his family, the parent birds -- two large, terrifying ravens -- returned. You wouldn't expect birds to hurt a cat enough to leave a scar, but those two birds were very protective of their nest. After the attack, Blue had a deep fear of ravens.
