Can't help but feel bad for this girl. While I'd gladly die orbiting earth (as thats sick as hell) it just stinks to think of a life she could of had if she didn't go.

actually it was built so that the nosecone would come off and she had to face the brutal heat of either the atmosphere or sun (I don't remember) so she basically burnt to death and the Russians knew that whatever they sent up there wasn't going to live. :<
Yikes, sucks she didn't even get to see it all. I never bothered to look to much into it as I'm not fond of shooting animals up into space so I didn't know. On the bright side her death was at least painless for as soon as she was exposed to that heat she would be gone.
Still don't take back my statement. I still find it admirable and I would do the same given the chance. Doesn't change my mind though that I wish she could of made that decision for herself. Too bad as a dog you can't... you can't really do that.
