to those who are celebrating pride, please keep us in your thoughts and support us
i just needed to write this down - not really a vent, but just something i feel like needs to be said
pride month isn't all sunshine and rainbows for me. a law could be passed in my country that condemns my identity, and i could be liable for up to five years of jail time because of it. it's going to be years, even decades before anyone like me could ever feel truly safe in this country. i couldn't even attend this year's women's march, which was the closest thing i could have had to a pride parade.
so i guess this is just something for kids like me and more. kids who don't have pride month bulletins adorning the school halls, kids who are too scared to join communities, kids who haven't figured out their identities yet or kids whose countries flat out ban their identities. you're not alone, and i believe in you all 💕
