I've never seen the animation, but I hear it was very similar to the book- until the ending.
The book is a very excellent one, a rather quick read but a creative yet historically accurate story. Thanks for the comment c:

I know this is several months old but honestly I have fallen in love with your gallery and think that painting the rest of the animals would be great!
I might even have to reread the book and give it a try myself!
