1:The mountain gorilla is the biggest out of all gorilla species

2:They were as low as 500-800 left in the wild until Dian Fossey started to work with them, there is now at least 1,000 but they are still critically endangered like all great apes are.

3: The main threat to these apes are illegal Bush meat trade and the kidnapping of their babies to be sold as exotic pets, along with habitat loss.

4:There are no mountain gorillas in a zoo, so all efforts to save the species is important (unlike the lowland gorillas mountain gorillas tend to die from unknown causes when they used to be in zoos, so they are no longer put in zoos.)

5:They are a type of eastern gorilla the other is one of the lowland gorillas ( the second type of lowland gorilla is the western lowland gorilla.)

6: Mountain gorillas actually have very dark brown hair ( When making gorillas for Gorillas in the Mist or Instinct ((I forget which one)) The main costume designer, Rick Baker had the other artist either paint or return the hair they had bought because it was the wrong color)

7: A gorilla also has a slightly stronger bite force than a grizzly bear
