the moth/butterfly/cat things have been given the name catterfly and lines. i'll clean them up later.
if anyone would possibly want to make these lines into a species, i'd be willing to sell them for maybe a 2012 rare at absolute most. i frankly have no idea how to price art, so prices are definitely negotiable. pm me if you happen to be interested.
and here's just a whole lot of various information.
catterflies are butterfly-cat hybrids. since they can't eat solid food but still need meat, it is widely accepted that meat juice is the best food for them. to get meat juice you can either cook up some meat and squeeze the juice out, or just head to the store and buy some prepackaged to avoid the hassle of cooking. unfortunately vegetarian or vegan diets are awful unhealthy for catterflies, so those kinds of people may not want to adopt one.
catterflies are small, with the largest still fitting in the palm of the average human's hand.
it is highly recommended to keep other pets away from catterflies, as they may see them as prey and try to attack their fragile bodies.
a catterfly can both fly and walk just as well as a normal butterfly or cat.
these little hybrids usually have short fur, though a couple do have long, silky fur which unfortunately can lead to them getting too hot and dying from heat stroke. catterflies should be kept in a place where the temperature stays the same all year at around 70℉ and away from any bright windows or lights, as they tend to dislike those things.
they should weigh from 1-2 ounces(that's about as much as a slice of bread or two), and being more or less than that is abnormal unless they happen to have a gene for chubbiness, in which you should ask a veterinarian on a good weight range.
catterflies don't need much attention, only a twice annual checkup at the vet, occasional grooming, and cage cleaning weekly. if you pet them, be very gentle as catterflies are rather fragile. keep away from children as they will probably end up squishing them to death.
small balls of foil make great & inexpensive toys, but don't give them string, sharp objects, or anything that could be easily swallowed that isn't food. eating a foreign object could end with the item getting stuck inside them or poking a hole in their insides, both of which would likely result in their death.
catterflies reproduce by laying as many as 20 eggs, but only 4 at most ever hatch and grow up without dying from a common birth defect, which causes certain bones in the neck to fuse+grow and eventually cuts off blood flow to the brain. it is not recommended to keep two catterflies who may fall in love with each other in the same cage, as they tend to reproduce fast making you end up with a whole lot of baby catterflies. babies drink the same food as adults, just in smaller portions.
catterflies aren't very social creatures, and prefer to be left to their own accord.
plans:
line clean-up
lock-alpha color for body, separate eye, wing, probiscus color
criss-cross lines in eye
maybe shading
the other wing
shorten neck
