You walk towards the sound, ignoring all the attempts of the rational side of your brain to stop, then there before you appears a cave. There are jewels scattered across the ground and some are indented into the walls, but there in the corner there is a creature, as you can see its' body slowly moving up and down. You walk towards it, not thinking as you have no idea what it is, as you get closer it lets out another throaty but dry roar. Closer and closer you get, you go to reach forward to touch it but as you do so you kick a rock and it hits a wall and creates a loud bang. The creature head bolts up, and its' body follows, it towers over you as you look up to be greeted with a strange smile from the creature. You take a couple steps backwards trying to see the creature at its' fullest, as its' head nearly hits the top of the cave it walks towards you, making you step back again and again. Slowly you both enter the sunlight and breeze, it stalks out of the cave and just as you get a good look at it, it rushes off up, higher onto the mountain.

so far, nothing had seemed amiss. everyone was happy and smiling, exchanging gifts and specially-made (or caught, in some cases) food, and cuddling.
however, the peace didnt last forever, she soon came to find out. a sudden loud noise caught her attention, and she turned around just in time to watch as an angry nytron stormed away from who she presumed was their valentine.
well, she couldnt let such a horrible thing go unfixed, could she?
no, she couldnt. absolutely not. valentina quickly rose from her spot, as comfy as it was, and began following where she'd seen the upset nytron go. surely there was only so many places they could go, so this should be easy.
at least half an hour later, and she was eating her words.
she had to give it to the other nytron, they sure knew how to hide well. maybe they were an element, maybe they werent and just had a talent at making themself disappear; either way, she had little places left to look.
she was about to search the falls again when at that exact moment she heard a sniffle, and then a moment later a hiccup, and she immediately went to find it, knowing it must be the missing nytron she was searching for.
there you are. she quickly found the disappearing nytron. the poor thing, a simple blue one with stripes all over and a long mane, was curled up in the bushes. she winced at the thought of all the thorns that must be digging into her back.
quietly, she padded over and crouched down to the other nytron's eye level, putting on a small smile. "hey there sugar, why dont you come out of that nasty bush and talk, alright? that sound good?" she said softly.
the other nytron said nothing for the longest time, but then she started to move, and eventually valentina was able to help her out of the thorns. after a quick explanation of how she found her, valentina sat down and made herself comfy before gesturing for the other nytron to do the same.
"so tell me, why'd you leave the meadow all teary-eyed and sad-faced sugar? did that boy say something to you? because if so.." she started, but was cut off by the other nytron.
"n-no! no. it's not like that. it's just.." she looked hesitant, as if unsure if she really wanted to tell her, but valentina didnt pressure her. "it's just.. it's just that i feel like he's ashamed of me, and it feels like he doesnt like me anymore, and whenever i try to do anything he just gets all stiff and quiet and i. i dont know what to do, it's driving me nuts trying to figure out what's wrong!"
well, that was a little strange, she had to agree. but maybe it was just a misunderstanding? she had to get more details to know anything for sure. "have you tried asking him about it?" she asked.
"yes, but he's just so cryptic! and then he leaves for awhile and doesnt come out to do anything." the blue nytron said in exasperation.
that's odd. "hm. maybe he's just nervous?" valentina offered, though hesitantly. she had a feeling that wasnt quite it.
"i thought that too, but he's fine just being with me, it's just when i want to cuddle he chickens out on me." the other nytron replied, tone taking on a bitter undertone. honestly, she didnt really blame her.
"i just dont know what to do! even on valentine's day, he cant do this one thing for me. everyone was probably staring at the only couple not cuddling like everyone else." the nytron sighed in frustration, clearly hurt and feelings betrayed.
"im not sure what causes it to be honest, but instead of prying for answers and making him angry or afraid, perhaps take baby steps instead of just throwing it all on him at once sugar. introduce him to little things first, and then try the big things." valentina recommended after a moment of thought, satisfied with her solution.
the other nytron looked at her funny for a moment, but then swallowed and nodded. "you're--you're right. maybe he's just anxious, and i just. need to take it slow." she nodded again, then turned to valentina with a small smile.
"thanks for your help, really, but i gotta go. i gotta find him-"
"go on! i dont want to hold you up, and besides, you two deserve to feel happy. good luck sugar." she hummed in reply, watching as the blue nytron ran off.
tomorrow, she supposed, she'd see if her advice worked.
the next day, during her daily walk, valentina saw the couple from yesterday smiling together and looking happy as can be. with her own smile, she turned to head home, happy with the knowledge she managed to help the couple stay together.
