So this is an adopt thinger I've been doodling for a while now in my sketch books. I call 'em Foodhogs (Foo Dhogs/ Food Hogs, idek)
They do not live on earth, in fact, they are a popular breed of extraterrestrial animal who guard imperial palaces off world.

The planet on which their origins lie is an extreme trading post, so they interact with a great deal of races on a regular basis, some even travel and leave their home planet in search of greater discovery.

They can stand on their hind legs, some have even gone so far as to make that their primary posture.

for no reason in particular they can do the frog thing and extend their throats and ribbit because thats v cute

because their exposure to so many different types of creatures, interracial couples are not uncommon. However, these couples will never be able to breed. (some exceptions may be made). Any other type of relationship is allowed and warmly welcomed!

The specimen you see above is the most common type of foodhog, there will actually be quite a bit of variety

I kinda want this species to have its own currency, and you can buy special things... i dunno, these are still in development

Can they speak? If so I think a native language would be super cool and fun to develop. I like to make up languages in my spare time (alphabet, grammer, etc) and since these guys have their frog vocal sack you could do some really cool things with their language!
Honestly I'd love to help you develop their language if you like the idea.

yes they can! They can speak a great deal of languages, and I was thinking with the dewlap it would be a lot easier to mimic the sounds and tongue rolls that some races use to communicate.
And I do think that would be a wonderful idea, I know that those with an affinity for roleplay and development would appreciate that, I will definitely keep that in mind, thank you!

So excited to start collecting the epic adopts!!!

For some ideas of things you could buy, perhaps items, fur paint, a companion, backgrounds, or something else. Maybe you could even get some people to do custom art for the currency although that may be a little too much. I wouldn't mind doing that although I'm a horrible artist XD As for currency, maybe you could earn currency from events and also a small amount from your foodhog (perhaps 2 currencies every week or month from each foodhog you own). You could also maybe earn currency by either being active or helpful in the community. I don't know, depends on what you want to do with them but there are some ideas :3
