Zíyòu padded through the meadow, bouncing purposely to irritate Teeki. The small bird ruffled his feathers and gave Zíyòu a few deserved pecks, but never left the viscets shoulder. "Why are you so lazy?"
"It's creative."
Zíyòu froze and stared at the bird, believing for a moment that he had spoken. He dismissed it rapidly, however, after seeing the dark Viscet that stood watching them. "Oh...hello..."
"Hi. You're Zíyòu, huh?"
"Uhh.."
"You were talking with my mom, Chihiro."
"Oh... Yeah."
"I'm Hoshi-Rei."
"Hey."
"Hey."
The two stood awkwardly, Zíyòu looking around at random object in a failing attempt to avoid looking at her. Finally, he broke down and spoke up. "I like your mane..."
"Thanks."
Another moment of awkward silence.
"Um..."
"I'll leave now. Goodbye."
Hoshi-Rei turned and began to jog off.
"It was nice meeting you." Zíyòu called out to her, gaining a nod in response, and watched as the faded into the trees.
