Zìyóu jogged happily through the meadow, pausing on occasions to sniff a tree or bush. Viscets were near, he knew it. He quickened his pace, excited to meet new viscets and possibly a new friend. As he padded on, he noticed a viscets tail flicking beside a tree. He jogged over and smiled. "Hello!"
The viscet turned around and looked at him calmly. "Hello. Do you need something?" Zìyóu was frozen, starting at the viscets ears in shock. They were floppy. So floppy that he thought they could cover his eyes.
"Uh...Ah..."
"You okay, bud? Cat got your tongue?" The viscet turned his brown eyes to Teeki before returning his gaze. "Or, bird?"
"No- I...Uh..." Zìyóu coughed and forced himself to look away from the viscets ears. "I just remembered something. I'm Zìyóu, this is Teeki."
"Oh. Hello Zìyóu, hello Teeki." He turned away and looked up at the tree as though the conversation were over.
"Um...may I ask your name?"
"Nanook."
"Oh, well hello Nanook! What are you doing exactly?..."
"A squirrel is up the tree. I'm waiting for the right moment."
"Oh, but that's too high, you'll never-" Nanook suddenly jumped up and snagged his fore paw onto a branch, using it to gain more height. As he came down to the ground, he held a limp squirrel in his jaws and gave Zìyóu a look. "Catch it... How did you-"
"It was nice meeting you, Zìyóu, but I should be getting back now."
Nanook turned away before Zìyóu could respond and jogged off. Zìyóu stared after him, dumbfounded and Teeki looked up at him with a mocking smirk.
