Rest in Peace, Unna
1996 - 2015

Remember, kids. Captivity kills.

Unna was an 18 year old orca who lived at SeaWorld San Antonio. She was the calf of Katina and Tilikum, and separated from Katina at the age of six. For nearly her whole life, she had been given antibiotics for fungal spores found in her urine. Over the last eight years, the fungus (Candida) grew resistant to the treatment. Unna became very sick in September 2015. Despite 24/7 medical care, she unfortunately passed away on December 21, 2015.

In layman's terms, SeaWorld killed one of their killer whales through their indiscriminate use of antibiotics.

Congratulations on reaching the Endless Ocean, Unna. You'll never have to suffer again.

Wonderful art! Very sad, of course, but I love how you have created this ti respect Unna.

Poor thing... I wish Sea World would start listening to those who love these amazing creatures. Not just Sea World, really. Every zoo and animal display out there. Captivity kills indeed. This is why I am devoting my life to freeing these animals. :(

Thank you very much!

It really is time for such corporations to evolve. It's clear that we, the people, do not find amusement in watching captive animals perform against their will.

She was only 18? Gah, I hate SeaWorld. They're the worst out there. Blackfish taught me so much... So sad to see these poor animals like this. Rest in peace, Unna.

Hi, I'm .photograph. but I go by Jessi. I'm a strange female who's currently in her
teenage years. I really don't know what I'm doing with my life. Life goals are to go
to college for photography and Air Force for MWDs. I try to check on my account
every day, but I'm not all too active due to real life stuff, so I apologize if my
replies to trades or messages are a bit delayed. Anyway, don't be afraid to message
me about whatever.

Currently, I enjoy Rick and Morty, Camp Camp, South Park,
photography, Harry Potter, western hognoses, and sleeping.

She died days before her 19th birthday. I've been seeing a lot of SeaWorld supporters trying to argue that Unna’s death is okay because she was 18 and was almost half the average wild lifespan.

?????????

Thanks for proving our point, I guess?
