Dalen played with his littermate, Danara, who leaped at him playfully, bowling him over. He jolted up at a familiar yelp, though it wasn't of welcome, but fear and pain. He squealed in terror as he saw his mother outside of the den battling with a strange male wolf. The new male had many scars and his eyes seemed alight with the hunger to kill. He watched in horror as his dad came, slashing the eyes of his attacker with his claws. The male yelped and rounded on him, leaping at him and biting deep into his neck. Dalen's father tried to yelp but no sound came. He fell limp and Dalen's mother howled in agony, leaping at the male and ripping his fur with her claws, snapping at his ear with her fangs. She fell over as he whipped around, swatting her with his massive paw. She fell, exposing her soft belly. The male took her chance and raked his claws over her stomach again and again, until blood covered Dalen's mother. He squealed in terror as the massive male charged towards him and his sister. He swiped his paw at his sister, making her small body hit a rock and fall limp on the ground. Dalen ran and hid in a small hole too small for the male to fit into. He wailed his grief for his family.
