The security guard glanced at his watch. It was 5:49, and it wouldn't be that much longer before he finished his fifth night on the job. There had been no activity worth reporting, just the usually wandering around. He was relishing the satisfaction of nothing going wrong on his watch when he heard a muffled laugh. Startled, he slammed the door buttons and pulled up the camera. What the heck was that? He quickly swept through the cameras, and everything seemed to be in order. Something was off though, and he checked them again. Then it dawned on him; the cat wasn't there. It wasn't on any of the cameras, not even a hint of fur or the gleam of their reflective eyes. Nothing. The cat had quite literally and effectively vanished. He knew he would be in trouble with the manager, but that could wait until morning. This is gonna look bad on my resume, he thought as he put the tablet back down, but he stopped, for there, sitting right in front of him, was the very cat he had been looking for. It shifted from a dark silver tabby to a pure black beast. He let out a startled cry as it flew at him, claws outstretched and a vicious snarl on it's face. That was the sight he ever set eyes upon.
I'm really really proud of how this turned out, but man that shading took FOREVER. I don't think I'll be doing shading like that again for a while. Comments are much appreciated c:
