You have a lovely grasp for drawing owls and deer. It's so rare on this site to find people who like both birds in deer. It's heartwarming to see. I just keep leaving because I just get so distressed over the lacking in acknowledgement of these gorgeous animals. I applaud you!

I was afraid that would come up...
See, I have had this concept dancing in my mind for ages, but never drew it out because I couldn't draw either species. So, I waited. During this time, I practiced drawing both owls and deer as they were phases I went through. After I felt I had drawn both species enough, I drew it here to sort of introduce the idea. I had seen no one had this concept on here, so I thought I'd be fine with it. So I considered making it a species strictly for artists to have. This means people cannot have one just to have one, like with the popular (and slightly annoying) species on here.

One day, I decided for the fun of it to google owldeer. And what do I find? Other people have had this concept before. I can see why. Owls and deer are graceful and majestic beings. I wasn't very bothered by it. But then I had seen the game "Endless Forest" had created a deer skin that... is an owldeer. I was a little devastated with that because that meant people would accuse me of "stealing" this species, when in actuality I have had this concept for quite some time. But then I thought people could sort of 'create' their owldeer in the endless forest and become a part of either community.

I would really like this to be a closed species so people don't take advantage of this species. Me and several other users have taken the time to develop them into something unique and fun for artists who want to be creative. I'm afraid users will break the 'rules'. I'm not a very patient person, especially when it comes to art and concepts. I didn't think it would get the popularity it did, and I was considering only having a select few members be a part of it before it got so much attention. Luckily it doesn't have so much attention that people will behave the way you suggested. And I hope it never will, because I can't tell you how much I despise the community of popular closed species. I have sworn to the members I am collaborating with that I will close the species down if it ever becomes as famous as, say, JBD, WME, Holters, and so on.

Haha, my apologize. I didn't mean to make it sound like I was accusing you of stealing any species or creations. I was simply worried about my community on TEF because some of us meander onto CS, and many people on this site are very passionate about closed species and then turn them into gross popularity contests on who has the most 'original' closes species and I just [obnoxious deer noises]

I'm really excited to hear that you and a group of people are taking precautions about that I really can't wait to see what becomes of this. Even if you don't want them to be acknowledged and rather popular I hope it'll get interest- and I hope /this/ community would respect the creator and not treat this wonderful creation as a popularity tool. //bloops away again after I clarified myself a bit more

I've actually got part of the official lines created, which can be found attached to the drawing in "drawings based off of this" or whatever it's called. Lol.

I didn't mean to sound defensive or anything. Geez Louise, I hope I didn't.
This is meant to be a small, fun species where members can be a part of the story. I've wanted to sort of base it off of Bambi; both the books and movies. I have only read the first one, but I plan on reading the sequel when I can. I feel like this would help inspire the artistic community, and hopefully discourage people more concerned about popularity from joining.
The only reason I suggested making a small profit off of it (cs pets-wise) was to help pay off any contributions artists have done to get this species up and running. c:

I hope to see you around here sometime. I feel like you'd do this species some good.
