She was born in India, because of the color of her coat she was going to be killed. For black is the sign of death, evil, and the devil in India. But along came Genna, she often traveled the world and she was in India when the little filly was born. It took a lot of money to persuade a man into selling the devil horse rather then dispose of it and not be cursed. But when she went to collect the filly and take it home, it was gone. Genna was devastated, she couldn't protect the foal. With a sad heart Genna returned to America and BES stables to her beloved horses and friends. Several years later, Genna went to India again. Among her travels in the desert, she saw a pitch black horse with curved ears. Was it the little filly all grown up? Of a different one? Another black Marwari was unlikely, because they weren't common, and they were hated. This horse had flames in her wide eyes, her coat matted with desert sand and burs. Her mane was long, tangled and scruffy. The mare was malnourished and afraid. Genna wanted to help this horse, for underneath the dirt was a beautiful talent hidden. Genna hired a few men to help her catch the mare. The mare yanked at the ropes, rearing and bucking when she could. She didn't like the feel of ropes, she didn't like the smell of humans. Finally the mare was loaded onto a boat to be taken overseas to California. Genna watched her the entire time.
** time passed ** arrived at BES **
The mare lashed out wildly at the enclosed stall. This was not one of Genna's best decisions, to take this horse out of it's home were it roamed free and put in a stall expecting a miracle, but at the time it had felt right. She knew that the damage done by the mare would come out of her pocket, how mad would Bay be? She didn't know. All she knew was this mare was a Nightmare, and that Gennas dreams may not come true.

Bay stood in front of the stall, her arms held patiently behind her back. The ruckus the dark mare had been making had stopped. Bay leaned in, about to take a step toward the stall door, when the mare reared and struck her hooves against the bars of her new "home." The other horses in the barn nighed frantically. The whole barn was like an exhibit of upset horses varying on all different levels of stress on the uncomfortable horse scale. It was chaos.
Genna looked at bay with pure terrified anticipation.
"You can't keep her here," Bay explained, "we'll take her to the mustang mares and she can live with them."
Genna, and the warry audience of horse boarders poking their heads into the barn, knew what Bay was talking about. There was a small heard of mustang mares who were free to roam within BES's fenced off land which was often used by the riders for trial riding. The mustangs were cared for and fed just like the other horses, but they were not ridden or handled like the stable horses. They were semi-feral.
Genna began to protest, "But--"
Bay cut her off. "I understand that you have fantasies of her becoming some amazing show horse companion, but she has been mistreated and neglected her whole life and you have more than enough horses on your hands already. This horse would be much happier living the half wild, half posh life with the mustangs, don't you think?" She reasoned.
Genna breathed in sharply, as if to say something, but stopped herself to mull over the situation.
Bay sighed and said, "look, you have a few options. This horse can live here with the mustangs, or you can sell your other horses so you have time for this one, or you could... get rid of it..."
Bay left the last one open. Although sending a horse to a shelter or uhthinization was not a favorable idea, especially in Bay's mind, Bay knew that rehoming this horse was not an option.
After gently placing her hand on Genna's back, Bay walked away, leaving Genna to make up her mind.
