The Wolf wrote:I will admit I'm scared to DEATH of sharks. Terrified. But that's no way to die. None what so ever. Its like taking a human, strapping bricks to them, then throwing them in the ocean. That human ain't gonna swim, and neither will that shark. Poor things. Any only for soup? *Sigh*

Not only do they not swim, they also bleed to death in the process...

Also, to whoever put it was, this is NOTHING to do with how we kill cows. Cows get killed instantly, no pain. Sharks get cut open and then they slowly bleed to death while they sink to the bottom of the ocean and hope they just die so they don't have to suffer this pain.

So yeah, killing cows is cruel, but don't you think this is more harsh?

I really don't mind people discussing this (it's nice to see other people who care about sharks, and it's interesting seeing other's opinions as well) but we've been warned already to bring this to animal chatter. i believe there was a thread posted a while back as while, I'll go find it. ^^
Besides that, this picture is really old, just about everything that could be said has already been said.

Well, techinicaly, it does. What do we do with all the organs and extraneous flesh? We scoop it out, sever and dispose. Shark fin is merely chopped and the whole thing is left. The killing is, maybe cruel, but it is more humane in terms of disposing of everything else.

i think sometimes we do need to kill animals to keep the population down but mostly nature will take care of that other animals will eat other animals by doing that it keeps population normal so it's not really fair for us humans to make it worse

Umm...yall had better move this to the animal chatter board before yall get in trouble. Just saying.:) Don't take me wrong on this, I don't like the way people do stuff to animals either, but this IS a DRAWING FORUM not a discussion about how they need to stop killing animals on both the land and in the sea. I don't want you to get into trouble, so you really need to move this to the ANIMAL CHATTER FORUM. Nice picture by the way. You did very good at the art. PLEASE DON'T TAKE THIS THE WRONG WAY. I JUST DON'T WANT YOU TO GET INTO TROUBLE!

sharks don't see us as fish they see us splashing around on the surface of the water like a wounded animal, they can see colour the reason most people get attacked is cuz they are wearing black swimsuits the more brightly coloured you are the less likely you are to be attacked.
Also sharks dont think we taste that good cuz we dont have much meat on us they just give us a test bite, if they thought we tasted good and wanted to eat us there wouldn't be so many shark attack survivors and they would patrol the beaches for us

Amazing picture. Really made me think. Sharks are amazing creatures, and they shouldn't be killed. Ever.

Wolves get shot, they die. Sharks get de-finned, they slowly bleed to death and drown. Not cool. D:

Not only is that terrible and cruel, but the most disturbing thing about this is that a lot of people are doing NOTHING just because they think sharks are blood-thirsty man-eaters. They're NOT. For all the people who think they are, it's called SURVIVAL.

Yeah I agree, though I am still scared of them// *coughcough* though I am scared of the ocean so that doesn't really help hehehehe

and yes there are not only those but has anyone heard of the Amur leopard:- Amur leopard is the most dangerous big cat (calls-Mammalia). According to the international union for conservation of nature it is considered to be facing an extremely high risk of extinction in the wild. apparently there are only 37 of them in the wild today!

POOR SHARKS!!!

what can we do though?

It's not always just the dorsal fin that gets cut off sometimes they cut off all their fins :(

Thank you very much for making this drawing and bringing more awareness to a really tragic issue.
