Species?

Postby slurm » Thu Oct 31, 2013 5:46 am

It was an idea, I wanted to get it on here before someone else took it XD
For now it will be a personal species, I'm still developing it but so far it is a naturally chubby species, with a long tail and short fur. It will probably never have human-like hair but almost always has some thicker hair on it's forehead. Males have small tufts on their ears, which are usually one very bright color that matches their porcupine-like quills. still developing their short chubby legs but I'm thinking of cat-like paws with retractable claws a pads. Their back feet will only have three or four toes but their front feet I'm thinking of four or five.

The fur on their tail and around the spine (at the edge of their quills) is the thickest fur they have and it can poof up like a cat's when they are frightened or fighting to make them look bigger.

They have a a snapping turtle like head with strong jaws, they have very very short fur on there mouth but it is still there.
When I was first making these I was thinking of a turtle, with the same tail you see here, and fur, but instead of a shell it had quills.
I dunno if the name is taken but I was thinking about something "pin-cushion" because to prevent the dangerous creatures from hurting them when they were first discovered the were equipped with muzzles, and round little "blockers" were put at the sharp tips of their quills, and someone said it looked like a pin cushion with the little blockers on.

They can't roll into a complete ball where all their body that isn't quill covered is hidden because their legs, body, head, and tail are to big/long but they can lay on their belly with their legs tucked beneath them and their tail close to their body with their quills spiked up, then wouldn't even try to hide their head though because their snapping turtle-like jaws are something you would want to avoid.

Species (c) me
If you would like to help develop this species feel free to suggest things. Please do not make offers on them though they is like 0.00001 chance I will give them away or sell them. (but still possible...)
