Introducing Oliver!

Postby Chii-sai » Mon Oct 28, 2013 2:25 pm

It happened again. We got another kitten!... And Paco and Quasi are very interested in him...

Everyone is allowed their own opinions, but I'm sorry- PLEASE SPAY AND NEUTER! All the cats next door that my neighbor hasn't fixed? They're all dying from a parasite that little Ollie here almost succumbed to. He's not even two months old yet and he's suffered a parasite that not only starved him nearly to death, but has stunted his growth (we've had him for nearly a month now and he's hardly grown), an ear infection and severe malnutrition. All three of his siblings are either dead or suffering.

I've come to the conclusion that Oliver, Paco and Quasimodo are all siblings, at least sharing one parent, as all of Ollie's siblings were Siamese like my two boys.

But yes... his ears are all cute and half flopped.

And yes. Quasi is cross eyed. VERY cross eyed.

Very cute! My good friend has many cats in her neighborhood, this one cat keeps having a litter every year. The odd part is that the newest litter, are the offsprings of the she cat and her son from a previous litter. Is this natural?! I keep telling her to fix the mom and the others, but when they tried she was already pregnant DX it's drivin me crazy

Unfortunately yes, but that can be very unhealthy as the kittens born can have birth defects. She should keep the mother separated until the kittens are weaned at 6 weeks, and by then it should be safe to take her in to be spayed!

And yes, it's sad, but he's doing much better now.

I tried to take it on myself to save as many as I could, but we already have five cats as it is. When I grabbed little Ollie as he was stumbling around, one of his siblings was near enough to grab, but they looked healthier than he did. I feel bad :I I should have grabbed the others...

I know the feeling. The house around the corner from us has a female who isn't spayed and a few males who aren't neutered. I have two cats from around there. One is a three year old and is the grandfather of my tux who is 8-9 months. I have a feeling I'll be getting a another kitten or so from around there, as there are two or three around there right now, but their mother(whom I knew as a kitten) is very skittish. Her kids are, too. I feel very bad for the, and they're never shown any attention, so my once or twice a week visit is all they get.
And though they never really seem to have worms or fleas(surprisingly), they do have ear problems. I just wish they'd get them all fixed so I wouldn't have to look at all the frightened kitties. I makes me sad. Especially being I'm associated with an adoption program with cats, and its sad to see how many sweet and/or terrified cats end up in the pound and are euthanize. I don't really want to see any of those cats end up like that.

But he's adorable! I'd love to see some pictures of him. Never seen a cat with half-flop ears. X3
