The legs are by far my least favourite part, but the simplified version is so easy to get the hang of. First of all, colour the hooves in the bone colour, as they are part of the skeleton (though not totally bone themselves). Next, using your reference picture, add in all of the leg joints. These will act as markers for when you need to add in the actual bones themselves.
