Please spay and neuter all of your animals! I can't enforce this enough!
Had it not been for my parents and me, these kittens would probably be dead.
Our next door neighbor has yet to fix any of the stray cats she lets live in her house, and due to this fact, they've been breeding non-stop. These two have another sibling I've seen around, but unfortunately, we don't have the money or the space to nurse another back to health.
Paco (the one in the background) came to us a few months ago on Cinco de Mayo. He was found under a board in our front garden, too sick to run away from us. Picking him up by the scruff of the neck- to make sure he didn't fight back -he hung there like a ragdoll. My mother and I began to feed him and bathed him to get over two hundred fleas off of his small body. He was given his shots and even recently, been fixed, and is in the prime of his trouble much to the annoyance of our three senior cats.
Quasimodo... I had seen this poor kitten next door. He was rather tame for a feral and willingly let me pet him, unlike the others. Though skinny, he was very kind to humans. Our neighbor even once came out while I was petting him and held him before my eyes, telling me she had been taking him to the vet for his terrible eyes. One thing was true- she was lying. The poor kittens eyes got worse and worse with each passing day. By the time we picked him up a week ago, he could hardly close his eyes without them getting stuck together. But now, only a week later with many medications, the little guy can see! Had we been a few days later, permanent eye damage might have occurred.
So in conclusion- although kittens are cute and make wonderful friends growing up, please do not willingly bring kittens into this world or hand them out to families you know are not qualified for keeping them healthy. Cats die every day due to lack of homes because kittens are taking their places.
Expect more art work of these two as they grow!
When talking to my mother about the Quasi issue, I told her we could easily find him a home since he's a Siamese... now my mother's too attached c; <3
